Perfect for any group that would like to get a start making puppets or other crafty things, but don't quite have a grasp on sewing just yet. Great for scouting groups!
What:
You'll learn lots of different hand-stitches (listed below), and of course you'll get to practice them by making your own stitch book. You'll leave with a collection of labeled stitches (that you achieved!), plus get hands-on assistance from your instructor. Don't know how to sew on a button? Don't worry, we'll cover that, too!
You'll learn how to thread a needle, end a stitch, plus a variety of hand stitching techniques.
List of stitches you'll learn*:
straight stitch, back stitch, ladder stitch, & whip stitch, & the baseball stitch
If there's time, you may also learn: blanket stitch, chain stitch, basting stitch, or Lilo and Stitch.
*How many stitches are learned is always determined by the group & by the speed at which we're able to achieve them together. We aim for 5 and hope for more.
