About Puppet Pie

Puppet Pie is a puppetry arts studio, that adds to the whimsy and fun of downtown Phoenix through puppetry.

Puppet Pie's mission is to use puppetry to empower people of all ages to explore the world around them through the lens of creativity. This is accomplished through: performance workshops that allow people to use puppetry as means of exploring different communication techniques; puppet-building workshops that introduce STEAM concepts to kids and adults in easily digestible ways; open-ended puppetry workshops that allow space for creative problem solving.

We offer both custom or ready-made, easy-to-use puppets for almost every age group, as well as classes and workshops in puppeteering and puppet building for small groups, schools, libraries, and corporate team-building events, and festivals and street fairs with our puppet ice cream truck.

Puppet Pie's was founded by Stacey Gordon, who also has the honor of performing one of Sesame Street’s newer friends, Julia, a curious 4-year-old Muppet with autism. In addition to her work on Sesame Street, she teaches puppetry to a neurodiverse audience at Puppet Pie and at schools, libraries, and conventions around the country. She also delivers keynote speeches promoting inclusion, kindness, and the arts. Stacey is a proud member of the Puppeteers of America, Art Link, and SAG-AFTRA.
