Hand Sewing for Beginners Workshop, January 12, 2pm-5pm
Would you like to get a start making puppets or other crafty things, but don't quite have a grasp on sewing beyond attaching a button? Good news! This Sewing for Beginners workshop is perfect for you! Come to class with your readers, though! We'll be looking at some tiny needles!
WHAT: You'll learn lots of different hand-stitches, and of course you'll get to practice them. You'll leave with a collection of labeled stitches (that you achieve!) and written instructions on how to achieve them at home. Don't know how to sew on a button? Don't worry, we'll cover that, too! You'll even learn how to thread a needle!
WHEN: Saturday, January 12th from 2:00pm-5:00pm.
WHERE: Puppet Pie Studio, 1301 Grand Avenue, Studio 4, Phoenix, AZ 85007. The entrance is on the south side of the building (on McKinley), to the left of the heart mural. Follow the signs on McKinley. There will be signs, don't worry. (You can also find a map through the menu navigation at the top of this page: Contact > Visit.)
SKILLS REQUIRED: Participants should be comfortable: looking at tiny objects (bring your readers!); Holding and maneuvering small tools; sitting for up to 3hours; having patience with themselves in learning a new task.
WHO: This workshop is designed for ages 13 - adult. If you have a child younger than 13 that is interested in this sewing workshop, please contact me before signing your child up.
Extra Details: One purchase is required for each person who will be attending/participating.
You do need to be in the Phoenix area for the workshop. If you don't live in the area (i.e. you have an address that is outside of the Phoenix, Arizona area) and you do plan to attend, please contact me to let me know you'll be attending, otherwise I'll politely cancel the sale for you (as I just simply can't ship myself to you, as much as I wish I could).
